The Cabins… read more were beautiful and attention to detail was amazing, views of the waterhole and bush at your doorstep, their honesty bar was very well stocked with beverages, wood & ice – You didn’t need anything.

Went on a magnificent game drive with Gunther who spoilt us with Elephant and a Serval as well as his knowledge of the bush was fantastic.

We will definitely be back!

The game drives are fun and filled with information about the sites and sounds in the bush. The big-five reside in Dinokeng and I’ve seen elephants and lions. Lot’s of buck and birds can be seen. We stayed in the Loft Cabin and enjoyed the air-conditioning, good quality beds, pillows and linen. Our cabin was serviced everyday by the friendly staff. Our daughter and son in law went on the game drive. They enjoyed it and were impressed by Gunther’s knowledge of the bush and the animals. God willing, Abendruhe Lodge will definitely see us again.   If you don’t like crowds and the noise that goes with it, this secluded lodge is the place to go. It is situated at the end of a private road,… read more so no other traffic or day visitors driving by. Only four chalets inside a safe, fenced yard with fantastic view from each chalet onto two water-holes. One can sit on your veranda and wait for the big 5 or other game and birds to stroll or fly by. The chalets are excellent with attention given to the finest detail. Going on a game-drive on an open game-view 4×4 on private routes that visitors may not travel on their own and listening to and learning from Günter, a registered guide and one owner, is a must! His wife Anita is co-owner and as a team they pay attention to the finest detail on the property. The cabins are cozy and have everything you need, seriously… EVERYTHING YOU NEED! Comfortable beds, Dstv, Wifi, Aircon, not to mention every utensil you will ever need…even my favorite, the all-important "braai-bak"! Nice cozy spot for your own little bonfire and your own braaier, overlooking the watering hole… Man, it is awesome!

Our game drive with Günter was exceptional. His knowledge of the bird-live and other animals is amazing. Learned so much during this time and the kids loved it!
