Gunter and Anita are wonderful hosts who are willing to go the extra mile for their guests. The staff are also very friendly and helpful. The lodge is so peaceful and the location absolutely perfect. We can highly recommend Abendruhe as the best lodge we have ever stayed in at Dinokeng.

However, it should be noted that the bathroom has a sliding door and therefore offer very little privacy. Also it is just next to the downstairs bed. There is no view from the upstairs bedroom. This unit is also right at the back behind the pool and thatched area – view of the water hole is limited. I think the smaller units have better views. The kitchen is adequate, but it should be noted there are just 6 of everything.

The view from our chalet on the water holes was a wonderful experience as a lot of animals came for a drink as we sat on our veranda.
Not to mention the quietness and peacefulness that is so important when staying in the bush.

The attention to detail is great, cabins very well equipped and clean. All the cabins have great views of the watering hole and the deck is a perfect place to unwind and enjoy the wildlife.

We really loved our stay here, enjoyed the informative game drive and would like to come back. The lodge is only an hour’s drive from our home in Johannesburg, but a whole different world.
