We stayed in the Loft Cabin and enjoyed the air-conditioning, good quality beds, pillows and linen. Our cabin was serviced everyday by the friendly staff. Our daughter and son in law went on the game drive. They enjoyed it and were impressed by Gunther’s knowledge of the bush and the animals. God willing, Abendruhe Lodge will definitely see us again. The game drives that Gunter does are wonderful and he is very knowledgeable about the animals .

Anita &… read more Gunter, the hosts, are extremely accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable about the reserve and its wildlife. Their cabins are lovely in terms of space, facilities and cleanliness and the sparkling swimming pool with help yourself ‘honesty bar’ are great for relaxing from the heat. The early morning game drive with Gunter was really interesting and is strongly recommended for anyone keen to learn about local nature. Anita’s muffins are a delicious bonus!

The game drives are fun and filled with information about the sites and sounds in the bush. The big-five reside in Dinokeng and I’ve seen elephants and lions. Lot’s of buck and birds can be seen. It’s a lovely place and so very close to Johannesburg.
