The cabin is well fitted, with light switches at the right spots… read more (two for the main light: in room and next to bed), etc. The view is wonderful, it’s winter now so there were no leaves on the bushes between us and the watering hole, we could see wildlife passing by to lick the salt block and drink some water.

We did one great game drive with Gunter, and they set up a 2nd one for us with a guide from a different lodge since they were fully booked. Loved the freshly baked all bran muffin during the coffee break.

Abendruhe is a great place with great owners to stay at while at Dinokeng.

They had an awesome braai and firepit area per unit with was really private and lovely to enjoy a braai and relaxing with marsh-mellows in the evening. You can also go on a game drive with Abendruhe Lodge, or buy a permit to go in your own 4×4. We have a little one so we opted to go on our own and had a lovely picnic along the way. There is a watering whole right in front of where we stayed and when we arrived there were many wildebeest in front of our room. I would definitely recommend staying there and am sure my family will be back! More

We stayed in the Loft Cabin and enjoyed the air-conditioning, good quality beds, pillows and linen. Our cabin was serviced everyday by the friendly staff. Our daughter and son in law went on the game drive. They enjoyed it and were impressed by Gunther’s knowledge of the bush and the animals. God willing, Abendruhe Lodge will definitely see us again. Anita and Gunter are wonderful and caring hosts and the accommodations are very comfortable –… read more especially the great kitchen and the air-conditioning when it gets wicked hot in the bush. The game drives are fun and filled with information about the sites and sounds in the bush. The big-five reside in Dinokeng and I’ve seen elephants and lions. Lot’s of buck and birds can be seen. It’s a lovely place and so very close to Johannesburg.
