However, it should be noted that the bathroom has a sliding door and therefore offer very little privacy. Also it is just next to the downstairs bed. There is no view from the upstairs bedroom. This unit is also right at the back behind the pool and thatched area – view of the water hole is limited. I think the smaller units have better views. The kitchen is adequate, but it should be noted there are just 6 of everything.

The rooms are so clean and spacious, you feel like you have your own little home for the weekend. Gunther took us on an afternoon game drive which was incredible, we got so close to the animals and we learnt so much, Gunther knows everything about every animal. Anita is so welcoming and makes you feel like family. Will definitely be back soon.

The hosts are incredible people and when you leave this beautiful lodge you leave with a new friendship formed. Gunther & Anita were amazing and were always standing ready to assist when the need arise. Beautiful clean premises with a water hole that attracts plentiful game. We had a wonderful time around our private boma, spending quality time with my family and dear friends. The lions roaring our last morning were the cherry on the cake. We will definitely be back.

  When we arrived we were welcomed at the gate and reception. They are covid-19 safe and our room was immaculately clean and had a sanitizer as you entered. The room… read more was clean, tidy and cosy, with everything you need for a winter bush weekend getaway. They had an awesome braai and firepit area per unit with was really private and lovely to enjoy a braai and relaxing with marsh-mellows in the evening. You can also go on a game drive with Abendruhe Lodge, or buy a permit to go in your own 4×4. We have a little one so we opted to go on our own and had a lovely picnic along the way. There is a watering whole right in front of where we stayed and when we arrived there were many wildebeest in front of our room. Saw alot of different animals from our deck. Definitely would recommend to family and friends. If you worry about Covid, don’t be. The lodge sticts to the COVID-19 protocols.
