  A fabulous escape! – Gunter and Anita have created a tranquil haven with the most well equipped cabins we have ever seen. They are helpful and attentive without being intrusive. The watering hole just the other side of the fence attracts a variety of game and birds, and we saw a jackal canter by while having a braai on the stoop. Abendruhe scores very high on the relaxation scale and we will definitely stay there again.

  I return to Abendruhe time and time again for a calm, yet fun get-away. Anita and Gunter are wonderful and caring hosts and the accommodations are very comfortable –… read more especially the great kitchen and the air-conditioning when it gets wicked hot in the bush. The game drives are fun and filled with information about the sites and sounds in the bush. The big-five reside in Dinokeng and I’ve seen elephants and lions. Lot’s of buck and birds can be seen. It’s a lovely place and so very close to Johannesburg.

  Lovely stay – We stayed at the loft cabin for 2 nights with 2 adults and 4 children. It was wonderful. The cabin is well fitted, with light switches at the right spots… read more (two for the main light: in room and next to bed), etc. The view is wonderful, it’s winter now so there were no leaves on the bushes between us and the watering hole, we could see wildlife passing by to lick the salt block and drink some water.

We did one great game drive with Gunter, and they set up a 2nd one for us with a guide from a different lodge since they were fully booked. Loved the freshly baked all bran muffin during the coffee break.

Abendruhe is a great place with great owners to stay at while at Dinokeng.

Nice to come back to after a long drive in the park. Wanted to stay longer, but will go back.
