  My family and I recently returned from 4 days at Abendruhe Lodge. It was everything we hoped it would be and more. Anita and Gunter have thought of everything to… read more make you feel like you are at a home away from home. You can stay connected with the wifi or disconnect from it all and just enjoy nature. We spent hours at the pool relaxing and watching the animals across the fence. A game drive with Gunter is a must as you are guaranteed to learn something new. We will definitely be back.   Have travelled extensively across South Africa. Found this gem of a self-catering lodge just 80 km from home. From arrival to departure our attentive hosts Gunther and Anita made us… read more feel welcome, ensuring that the little details not normally attended to by other places of accommodation was attended to without us asking. The rooms are comfortable, a king size bed and air conditioning for those warm South African summer days. Every room has its own personal viewing deck with a view of the wildlife coming to drink at the lodge dam of which was plentiful. The giraffe bending down to quench its thirst was a personal high-light. Gunther was a knowledgeable field guide on our many game drives ensuring that all guests receive personal attention. Indeed a home away from home. Will be visiting again soon.
