Gunther is friendly, accommodating and very knowledgeable about the flora, fauna and wildlife.… read more We learnt valuable information about the animals that we saw during the game drives. We did both a morning and late afternoon drive with Gunther and would highly recommend his services. Plus we got to see his lodge, Abendruhe, with his wife, Anita, showing us one of the wooden cabins. We plan to book a stay for later this year especially as each cabin offers a deck overlooking a waterhole. Thank you Gunther for the fabulous game drives!

  Our wonderful stay at Abendruhe Lodge – We absolutely loved our stay at Abendruhe Lodge , its truly a hidden gem . The accommodation was superb, spotless and had everything you would need and more, and also… read more electric blankets , aircon/heating so you dont get cold in Winter. There’s a water cooler in your cabin as well in case you forget to bring water. The honesty bar had drinks and wood and charcoal for sale in case you forgot to bring or ran out. We loved all the outdoor seating areas, the braai and the fire pit as well. It was so peaceful and relaxing sitting by the fire looking out at the beautiful bush every evening. We were fortunate enough to see Zebra, giraffes and impala from our patio walking by and had just missed lions walking past the fence. We came to unwind from the stresses of our life and we got absolute tranquility and peace of mind from our stay here. The owners Gunther and Anita are lovely, friendly hosts who take care of everything you need. It is also great value for money, I dont think you can get such good accommodation at such fair prices anywhere else in the reserve , I would highly recommend staying here, 5 stars from us all around, we will definitely be back , thank you Gunther and Anita for a fantastic stay !

  Lovely stay – We stayed at the loft cabin for 2 nights with 2 adults and 4 children. It was wonderful. The cabin is well fitted, with light switches at the right spots… read more (two for the main light: in room and next to bed), etc. The view is wonderful, it’s winter now so there were no leaves on the bushes between us and the watering hole, we could see wildlife passing by to lick the salt block and drink some water.

We did one great game drive with Gunter, and they set up a 2nd one for us with a guide from a different lodge since they were fully booked. Loved the freshly baked all bran muffin during the coffee break.

Abendruhe is a great place with great owners to stay at while at Dinokeng.
